Job Description:


DUTIES: A position is available in the Carl Moyer Program, a major incentive program that obtains emission benefits by paying the incremental cost of cleaner-than-required engines and equipment. Duties of this position include:
  • Developing protocols and tools to quantify and track emission reductions;
  • Monitoring and evaluation of air district programs;
  • Developing guidelines and policy recommendations for engines and equipment used in on-road, off-road, agricultural, marine and other sources;
  • Creating and maintaining databases, spreadsheets, and web sites to track and publish emission reductions;
  • Analyzing program data and writing reports.

The person in this position will work closely with staff and management implementing California’s emission reduction incentive programs and regulations affecting mobile and agricultural sources, alongside ARB information services, legal and public relations teams, and in close coordination with affected air pollution control and air quality management districts.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation with good critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills, will demonstrate enthusiasm and initiative, and work effectively in a team setting. A general knowledge of mobile source emissions controls and the ability to address technical issues and critically evaluate data pertaining to engine technologies and project fiscal accounting are also desirable. Familiarity and experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Access), programming languages (e.g., PHP), and web applications would be important assets.

Occasional travel may be required. Safety training and personal protective equipment training are necessary for all personnel who perform vehicle and equipment inspections.
