The reporting location for this position is in Petaluma. This position will work under the supervision of the Bay Area District Senior Environmental Scientist. This position provides exciting and unique opportunities for natural resource management in a large and complex district. The parks in the Bay Area District encompass more than 60,000 acres of highly varied habitat across 7 counties in the San Francisco Bay Area. The primary duties of this position are implementation of natural resource projects and maintenance including invasive species control, vegetation management, habitat restoration, mapping, monitoring and protection of natural resources. This position helps to oversee field crews conducting natural resource activities and projects in the parks and helps to apply for grants for natural resource work. Experience with GIS and GPS mapping required. This position may work up to 1500 hours per year. State housing may be available.
