The reporting location for this position is the San Jacinto Sector office located in the ldyllwild Campground in the San Jacinto Sector of the Inland Empire District. The San Jacinto Sector is located in Riverside County. The town of ldyllwild is on the north side of Mount San Jacinto at an elevation of about 5400 feet. This position has primary responsibility at Mt. San Jacinto State Park and is responsible for the maintenance of facilities within the sector, but may be temporarily assigned to another unit within the district.
The Park Maintenance Worker I performs skilled and semi-skilled maintenance and repair of park systems and facilities. The incumbent may act as a lead person for other staff and work crews. This position performs semi-skilled and manual labor to maintain and repair buildings, structures, campsites, picnic facilities, roads, parking areas, trails, fixtures, water and sewer systems and irrigation systems. This position performs carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry and electrical work on facilities, installs signs and fences, repairs roads, lays asphalt and clears culverts. Power and hand tools are used in the accomplishment of the work. The incumbent's work schedule will be 5 day work week of 8 hour shifts, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with days off to be Tuesday/Wednesday. State housing may be available.
