Under the functional supervision of a Supervising Tax Auditor II, this position reviews and analyzes complex and sensitive audits and other determined liabilities under appeal, prepares the departmental Summary Analysis report for use throughout the remainder of the appeals process, and post-conference related correspondence. The position requires comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the Sales and Use Tax Law, related regulations, audit methodologies, and administrative policies. Candidates must possess extensive experience in analyzing and evaluating complex audits. Excellent oral and written communications skills are required. Candidates should also have a demonstrated history of the ability to successfully work in an environment where time constraints were limited and assignments/priorities were subject to redirection. Ideal candidates will also have the willingness and aptitude to work within a digital (paperless) environment, and be adaptable to forthcoming BOE legacy system enhancements. Supplemental Requirement: Interested candidates may be required to demonstrate written communication skills in a timed exercise. The position is located in a high-rise building.
