Job Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION :
Under the general direction of the Administrator I, the incumbent performs a variety of analytical support activities including, but not limited to, managing amended business entity return inventory, preparing reports surrounding inventory management and communicating and serving as liaison with Audit Division contacts and BES staff. Analyze complex account problems reported by processing staff and recommend a course of action. Assess the business entity return validation program, policies, legislation and procedures to improve efficiency. Work independently and in a team environment with team members. Represent Business Entities Section in departmental meetings, projects and teams. The incumbent recommends a course of action under tight time constraints and with limited information to ensure problem resolution and efficiency of services.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :

  • Ability to analyze and evaluate situations, draw sound conclusions, and determine and implement an appropriate course of action.
  • Experience leading projects or teams and interact effectively with customers, peers, and management.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment to achieve intended results.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, good work ethics, positive attitude, and self motivated.
  • Knowledge of FTB’s organization, operations, and business entity tax law.
  • Knowledge of FTB systems: BETS, eView, IDAX, BITS.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Sharepoint, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.) and Adobe Acrobat Professional.

Current state employees with status in the above classification or lateral transfers from an equivalent class, former state employees who can reinstate into this class or persons who are reachable on a current employment list for this classification. A training and development assignment (T & D) may also be considered. All appointments are subject to SROA/Surplus hiring provisions.
