Position will be temporarily located in Riverside and will re-locate to the Rancho Cucamonga Branch Office upon its completion, moving expenses will not be paid. Under the direction of the Information Officer ll, the Information Officer I (Specialist) is responsible for the more difficult professional and technical tasks associated with establishing the objectives of the Outreach and Taxpayer Services Program in the Second Equalization District. The incumbent plans, writes, edits and prepares the more complicated information material for dissemination to the public regarding the activities and objectives of the Sales and Use Tax Department (SUTD). The incumbent advises management on public relations related to outreach efforts and the implication of proposed actions, contacts individuals and members of interested organizations to keep them informed about SUTD activities and outreach efforts, researches and interprets information to be disseminated or presented to the public through written/visual materials, including those translated into languages other than English, online or verbally, makes speeches and/or creates presentations before various groups and promotes knowledge and use of the agency’s services. Working knowledge of the Board of Equalization is desirable. All applicants will be considered.
