***This is a Peace Officer Position. To be eligible, you must meet the minimum qualifications established by the Department of Human Resources AND either be currently eligible or eligible for reinstatement as a PC 830.2, California State Peace Officer. If you are not a current peace officer employed by a State of California agency and in possession of a POST – Basic Certificate, you are not eligible for this position and must apply to take the State Park Peace Officer Cadet (Ranger/Lifeguard) Exam when offered. The reporting location for this position is the Clear Lake Sector Office, Kelseyville. This position will work under the direction of Sector Superintendent. This position will be responsible for the supervision of the Visitor Services activities within the Clear Lake Sector consisting of Clear Lake SP and Anderson Marsh SHP. Clear Lake SP is located 3.5 miles northeast of Kelseyville. Clear Lake SP has four campgrounds, two group camps, and boat launching facilities. Anderson Marsh SHP is 20 miles east of Kelseyville. Anderson Marsh SHP is a day use park with 10,000 year old archeological sites, an historic building complex and a nature preserve. This position will supervise three SPPOR and various seasonal staff, oversee public safety and law enforcement activities, campground operations, volunteer management, cooperating association liaison, interpretation and resource management.
