To be eligible, you must meet the minimum qualifications established by the Department of Human Resources AND either be currently eligible or eligible for reinstatement as a PC 830.2, California State Peace Officer. If you are not a current peace officer employed by a State of California agency and in possession of a POST – Basic Certificate, you are not eligible for this position and must apply to take the State Park Peace Officer Cadet (Ranger/Lifeguard) Exam when offered. The reporting location for this position is Fort Tejon State Historic Park in Lebec. This position will work under the supervision of the State Park Peace Officer Supervisor (Ranger). This position will be involved with a variety of duties such as interpretation, safety and enforcement, seasonal employee lead, visitor center, day-use operations, cultural and natural resource management, volunteer management, a large ELP living history program, and oversight of special events at Fort Tejon State Historic Park, Tule Elk State Reserve and Colonel Allensworth State Historic Park.
