The reporting location for this position is the Public Safety Office located at Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park in Felton. This position will work under the direction of the District Superintendent. This position is responsible for the coordination and administration of the Public Safety programs of the Santa Cruz District. The Santa Cruz District has a well-established public safety program designed to support the fifty-five (55) peace officer positions assigned to three sectors. The Santa Cruz District has a large, complex, and professional Public Safety program. The successful candidate will need to have the ability to work well with Sector Superintendents, Peace Officer Supervisors and the Peace Officers of the Santa Cruz District. This position is responsible for record keeping, evidence, court liaison, Peace Officer training, and the Field Training programs of the district. Additionally, this position acts as the liaison with other Public Safety providers for matters relating to public safety on a local, regional and statewide basis. State housing may be available.
