The reporting location for this position is Crystal Cove State Park Headquarters in Laguna Beach. This position will work under the general supervision of the Central Sector State Park Superintendent. The incumbent is responsible for day/night shift supervision with an emphasis on the aquatic safety and visitor services program support for the 2,791 acres of Crystal Cove State Park which includes 3.2 miles of pristine beach, backcountry wilderness open space designated as National and California Natural Landmark, an 1,100 acre State Marine Conservation Area/Underwater Park, a National Register Historic District, primitive camping areas, and a sixty-site developed campground. Primary duties include public safety and law enforcement, interpretation and education, coastal resource management, community outreach, liaison with volunteers, docents, and cooperating associations, resource management and protection, campground operations, and revenue generation. This is an exciting time at Crystal Cove State Park, with a growing Junior Lifeguard program, a steadily busier beach, and extensive historic restoration taking place.
