The reporting location for this position is Sacramento. This position will work under the direction of the Fiscal Systems Support Unit Manager. The Fiscal Systems Support Unit is responsible for maintaining CALSTARS, the Department's automated accounting system as well as the Fiscal Tracking System (FTS) - a business intelligence system used by State Park professionals for managing fiscal activities. The Staff Administrative Analyst (Accounting Systems) is a working supervisor of the unit responsible for planning, directing, organizing and managing the daily, monthly, and yearly operations of CALSTARS; in particular the Labor Distribution Subsystem, as well as the development, maintenance and testing of financial applications in multiple platforms such as Microsoft Access, Excel, and SQL Server. Supervises, reviews, and evaluates the work of three unit staff. The incumbent will provide guidance to Accounting Section Staff and agency personnel to resolve complex system and accounting problems and assist with the more complex CALSTARS issues. Incumbents must possess strong knowledge of CALSTARS, complex accounting systems, and have good customer service and communication skills. This position is pending Personnel Office review.
