Under the general direction of the District Administrator, the incumbent performs a wide variety of the most difficult clerical duties which require confidentiality and a substantial degree of autonomy. Incumbent is expected to consistently exercise a high degree of initiative, independence and originality in performing assigned tasked. Works directly with headquarters staff in preparing and processing personnel transaction documents for new hires, transfers, promotions, and separations, and transmits completed forms. Requests promotion eligible lists and processes forms for promotions. This includes ordering certification lists of eligible for vacant positions, mailing employment inquires to those eligible and tracking their responses. Conducts all the necessary transactions to ensure legal hiring practices including clearing all SROA eligible. Prepares paperwork for name changes, etc. Reconciles absence requests with time sheets and maintains time sheet files; completes STD-634s, updates rosters, coordinates health benefit documents; researches benefits inquiries from staff. Meeting the training requirements for this position may require overnight travel for one or more days. This position requires the incumbent to be fingerprinted.
