Under the general direction of a Supervising Tax Auditor II, the Business Taxes Specialist II (Tax Policy Specialist) is responsible for independently researching, analyzing and developing proposals and recommendations for presentation before the Business Taxes Committee. The Tax Policy Specialist will conduct Interested Parties meetings and provide expert knowledge on the issues from initial development to implementation phase. They will act as a highly skilled technical specialist on the plans, practices, and policies of the Sales and Use Tax Department. This position requires excellent knowledge of Sales and Use Tax Law, and departmental policies, rules, and regulations. Also requires excellent written and oral communication skills. A duty statement is available upon request. A candidate must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations. The position is located in a high-rise building. All applicants will be considered; however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority.

b. Interacting with High Level Management, Legal staff and Board Member Staff
c. Public Speaking, your audience, your topic and your preparation
3. List two examples of either complex cases or tasks you have handled that best describe your ability to:
a. Be a valuable lead person and technical resource
b. Research and interpret the laws and regulations administered by the BOE
c. Handle and accurately interpret data
d. Deal with sensitive situations and conflict
Responses to the questions must be typed, with a maximum of two pages single-spaced. Completed Standard State Application (Form 678) received without responses to the SQ will not be considered.
