The reporting location for this position is the General Ledger Unit at Headquarters in Sacramento. This position will work under the direction of the Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor). The Accounting Officer (Specialist) will perform professional accounting duties in the researching, analyzing, monitoring, establishing and maintaining of financial records. The incumbent will record, analyze, and process expenditure corrections, maintaining expenditure database, tracking reimbursable expenditures and receipts for various agreements; prepare letters to the State Controller’s Office to recognize reimbursements from Advanced Collections, reconciling appropriations with SCO reports for various funding sources, posting journal entries for funding sources into the CALSTARS system. Desirable qualifications: General accounting skills, analytical skills and able to complete tasks and meet deadlines; excellent attendance, organization and communication skills (written and oral). Knowledge of automated accounting systems, Microsoft Office, and PC experience desired. State housing is not available.
