Job Description:
All applicants will be considered however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority. Under the general direction of the Assistant Chief Counsel, Appeals Division, the Tax Counsel III (Supervisor) supervises a staff of attorneys and auditors. Duties of the Tax Counsel III (Supervisor) may include: training of staff; managing of case inventory and assignments; reviewing cases in all tax programs; making recommendations for the most complex cases at all levels; handling the most complex business taxes petitions and claims for refund; reviewing the decisions and recommendations of the Tax Counsel III (Specialist)’s, Tax Counsels, Business Taxes Specialist II’s, and Business Taxes Specialist III’s in all tax programs; and assisting the Assistant Chief Counsel of the Appeals Division. This position may be required to travel overnight and throughout the state up to 10% of the time. The position is located in a high-rise building.
