To be eligible, you must meet the minimum qualifications established by the Department of Human Resources AND either be currently eligible or eligible for reinstatement as a PC 830.2, California State Peace Officer. If you are not a current peace officer employed by a State of California agency and in possession of a POST – Basic Certificate, you are not eligible for this position and must apply to take the State Park Peace Officer Cadet (Ranger/Lifeguard) Exam when offered. The reporting location for this position is the Monterey Sector Office located in Monterey. This position will work under the direction of the Monterey Sector Superintendent. Monterey Sector is comprised of Garrapata State Beach, Point Lobos State Natural Reserve, Point Lobos Ranch State Park, Hatton Canyon State Park, Carmel River State Beach, Monterey State Beach, Fort Ord Dunes State Park, Marina State Beach, Salinas River State Beach, Moss Landing State Beach and Zmudowski State Beach. The position directly supervises all State Park Peace Officers within the Monterey Sector. The position may also be required to provide supervision to other locations or events throughout the District based on operational need. This position offers an opportunity to join a dynamic team and the District is looking for a highly motivated individual to join them. State housing may be available.
