The reporting location for this position is One Capitol Mall in Sacramento. This position will work under the direction of the Boating Operations Division Chief and the lead analyst for the Law Enforcement Unit.
The Office Technician (Typing) will perform the following duties:
Provide clerical support, including generating and processing contract forms based on information provided by the Law Enforcement Unit analysts. Track contracts through the approval process, which includes coordination with various control agencies such as Department of General Services. Compose correspondence, edit and proof documents, answer telephone, word processing, data entry, mail and document handling, filing and records management, oral communication, and other record keeping. Make copies. Maintain various phone, mailing and email distribution lists. Maintain Law Enforcement Training Program class and student records. Provide minimal clerical support to the Boating Law Enforcement Manager and the Yacht & Ship Unit as necessary.
•Strong writing, grammar, and communication skills
•Excellent typing skills
•Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
•Strong filing and organizing skills
•Basic familiarity with state contract forms and process
•Willingness to work in a “team” oriented environment
•Ability to organize and prioritize workload
•Ability to work independently and use sound, logical judgment; good attendance is essential
•Ability to handle a variety of different and difficult tasks simultaneously
