The reporting location for this position is the Facilities Management Division, located at the Helibron Mansion in Sacramento, with extensive travel and long term project coordination at any State Park as part of the DPR-CCC Trail Crew. This position will frequently work in remote locations. This position will work under the supervision of the Senior Park and Recreation Specialist and the lead Park Maintenance Worker I. The Skilled Laborer, Permanent Intermittent (PI) leads and performs manual labor to complete specially funded ADA, facility, and resource projects. The position may assist in more technical facility maintenance projects under the direction of more senior maintenance staff. Work will include heavy manual labor, extensive walking to and from sites, hot summer temperatures, cold winter conditions, including working in rain and snow conditions, and work in high altitude, desert and coastal environments. The incumbents work schedule will be Monday through Friday 8:00 am till 4:30 pm; however this position will be required to work nights, weekends, odd hours, and overtime to accomplish assigned tasks. Remote work locations, eight or ten day assignments, overnight travel, and spike camps throughout the state are required. This position may work up to 1500 hours per year. This position requires a Basic 32 Wildland Firefighting Certificate (or equivalent) and possession of a valid class B driver’s license. Please provide proof of eligibility with application.
