JOB DESCRIPTION :
Under close supervision of the Senior Accounting Officer Supervisor, the Accountant I Specialist, in training and learning capacity, performs semi-professional accounting work in the researching, analyzing, monitoring, establishing, and maintaining of General Fund accounts and financial records. Maintains working relationships with FTB personnel, vendors, contractors, and state control agencies to facilitate the accounts payable process needed by internal management and other departments.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :
General and state fund accounting principles and procedures
Automated accounting systems and PC software
Ability to create new procedures
Apply general accounting principles
Analyze data and arrive at sound conclusions
Apply good organizational skills to plan and prioritize work
Follow prescribed procedures, complete tasks and meet deadlines
Meet with and obtain the cooperation of program units, control agencies and internal staff
Maintain flexibility and adapt to changing priorities
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
