Under the general supervision of a Data Processing Manager II, the incumbent will serve as a member of the Desktop Applications Unit. The Staff Programmer Analyst (Specialist) is responsible for building and supporting desktop and web applications that support the Board of Equalization’s operations; serving as a team member on large complex IT projects and/or a lead programmer on smaller projects; working independently as a technical analyst in exploring and applying new technology to streamline business work processes; training and mentoring new or inexperienced programming staff. Desirable qualifications include knowledge in client/server architecture and relational database design, application development methodology, and change control process; ability to analyze complex system problems and identify solutions; work experience in C# and ASP.NET programming, writing stored procedures in Transact–SQL. Delphi and ColdFusion programming experience is preferable but not required.
