Job Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION :
Under the general direction of the manager of the Multi Contact Resolution Unit (MCRU) and with functional guidance provided by the Customer Service Supervisor, you plan organize and direct MCRU staff in the Power of Attorney (POA) Unit, responsible for processing POA Declarations and responding to requests from taxpayers and their representatives, as well as the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Provide supervisory assistance for a unit of up to 24 staff in the Tax Program Technician (TPT) series. In addition to understanding the section’s operational goals, knowledge of POA laws and the department’s processing procedures is required. Develop, motivate, and enable team members to help the section meet its goals in a positive environment. Personal characteristics of a Tax Program Supervisor include being fair, positive and honest. All duties are performed within the framework of the department’s strategic plan goals, mission and values.

WHO MAY APPLY :
Current state employees with status in the above classification or lateral transfers from an equivalent class, former state employees who can reinstate into this class or persons who are reachable on a current employment list for this classification. A training and development assignment (T & D) may also be considered. All appointments are subject to SROA/Surplus hiring provisions.
