Southern Region - Under the direction of the Administrator I, the Senior Compliance Representative (SCR) will work an associated inventory of more complex Personal Income Tax (PIT) and Business Entity (BE) field collection accounts. The Senior Compliance Representative will be required to manage an inventory caseload and resolve cases by field contact or by seizure and sale of assets, or by using applicable legal remedies to assist collection or compliance. A Senior Compliance Field Representative uses advanced technical collection skills, the knowledge of all phases of debt collection, tax compliance and taxpayer education while adhering to policies and procedures following California’s Revenue and Taxation Codes. The duties include investigating, identifying, researching, documenting and resolving complex or technical issues.

Los Angeles Field Office – in addition to the above mentioned duties, the applicant(s) selected will be assigned an inventory within the Fresno and Kern Counties. You will be required to work and conduct field calls within this area and it is mandatory that you travel to the Los Angeles home office on an as needed basis.


  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Knowledge of FTB Programs, computer systems and data bases (e.g. TI, BETS, ARCS,BE ARCS, INC, etc.,)
  • Knowledge of Collection Procedures and Resources including Collection Manual, Rack and Resource and Development Guide.
  • Strong analytical skills, the ability to use good judgment and take effective actions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills/Ability to communication effectively (written and verbal).
  • Ability to plan successfully and manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Current state employees with status in the above classification or lateral transfers from an equivalent class, former state employees who can reinstate into this class or persons who are reachable on a current employment list for this classification. A training and development assignment (T & D) may also be considered. All appointments are subject to SROA/Surplus hiring provisions.
