Under the direction of the Office Services Supervisor II, the Office Technician performs complex, difficult and confidential clerical work for the Tax Revenue Branch, Cashier Unit. The incumbent exercises a high degree of initiative, independence and originality in providing a wide-variety of cashiering functions and administrative, clerical and technical support functions to ensure timely and accurate processing and posting timeframes are met. This position is heavily involved in the Check 21 automated project and is expected to perform the major functions tied to this process, including evaluating situations accurately and taking effective action, providing clear and comprehensive reports, creating difficult reports, and applying rules, policies and procedures. All applicants will be considered however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority. Pending HR approval. Applicants must submit STD 678 Application. Applications must be received by final filing date. The position is located in a high-rise building. The position requires the incumbent to be fingerprinted. A LEAP Certification List will be utilized.
Special Requirements: In addition to the STD 678 Applicant need to submit a one typed page answers to the following questions:
1. This position requires a high level of experience using a personal computer. Describe your skills in word processing, utilization of task management tools, data entry, spreadsheets, presentations, formatting of documents, scheduling meetings/appointments and e-mail. Include software you have used and briefly give an example of projects and ongoing responsibilities using these applications.
2. The person in this position must manage multiple assignments and conflicting priorities with the pressure of short, demanding deadlines in a fast paced environment. Please give clear examples of your experience (a) managing multiple assignments; and (b) meeting deadlines.
3. This position provides technical and administrative support to the Financial Management Division as well as support to agency staff. Give clear examples of your professional experience (a) working and handling communications for a workplace community; (b) responsibility for maintaining confidentiality relating to matters that are sensitive in nature; (c) providing administrative support to managers and department staff. Please include the management level supported, and the size of organization/department.
4. Describe your professional experience in preparing and proofreading large, complex, and technical documents for completeness, accuracy, format, and consistency. Please identify the type of document(s) that you prepared and/or proofread.
