The reporting location for this position is Prairie City State Vehicular Recreation Area in Rancho Cordova. This position will work under the direction of the Twin Cities District Superintendent. The State Park Superintendent II is responsible for management of the Prairie City Sector. The incumbent may also act as the assistant to the District Superintendent. This position supervises and manages the Visitor Services, Maintenance, Resource Management, and Interpretation/Community Outreach functions of the Sector. This position offers the incumbent an excellent opportunity to gain experience in managing all facets of a sector operation. The recently completed Environmental Training Center at Prairie City will bring an opportunity to work on expanding the community outreach program in the region. As an integral member of the District Core Staff, this position has a very active role in the District’s overall strategic planning. Knowledge of General Plans and CEQA is helpful. The operation of four-wheel drive vehicles, off-highway motorcycles, and all-terrain vehicles is required. State housing is not available.
