Job Description:
Under the general supervision of a Business Taxes Administrator I, the incumbent conducts the more complex business permit and license inspections and corroboration of accurate tax reporting under the Statewide Compliance and Outreach Program (SCOP). Incumbent also prepares investigation reports, conducts field observations, and assists in identifying underreporting. When reporting deficiencies are encountered, incumbent solicits amended tax returns, prepares estimated billings, and prepares audit leads. Incumbent must be able to accept money in the field, provide a receipt, and properly protect the money until it is transferred. The duties performed by this position are primarily carried out in the field. This position may be considered for rotational duties within the same classification. Position requires travel overnight up to 50% (may include overnight) of the time and work in the field at least 80% of the time. Meeting the training requirements for this position may require overnight travel for one or more consecutive days. More than one position may be available. The position requires the incumbent to be fingerprinted. All applicants will be considered however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority.
