Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager I in the Human Resource Services Branch, the incumbent will be responsible for providing advice and guidance to supervisors and managers on complex and sensitive personnel issues, personnel policy, employee performance management, and writing adverse and non-punitive actions. The incumbent will be expected to display a positive attitude and serve to cultivate a team environment to help accomplish the Department’s goals and missions. We are seeking applicants with human resource experience and who possess strong analytical, organizational, time management, and detail oriented skills; must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; demonstrate good judgment; have the ability to work under pressure, perform multiple tasks with accuracy and precision; maintain confidentiality; and effectively apply laws, rules, regulations and bargaining unit contract provisions as they relate to the state's disciplinary process. The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Applications will be accepted from individuals at the Staff Services Analyst/Associate Personnel Analyst (APA) level. The Associate Governmental Program Analyst list will be used as an appropriate list for hire in the APA classification. All appointments are subject to State Restriction of Appointment/Surplus provisions. Qualified candidates must have eligibility in state employment, be in a reachable rank on an employment list or have transfer or promotional eligibility.
