This position will be located in one of the following locations depending on the location of the selected candidate: Culver City, Norwalk, Van Nuys, West Covina, or El Segundo (anticipate office opening in August 2014). This position may be located in a high-rise building. All applicants will be considered; however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority.
Under the direction of the Chief of Field Operations, Sales and Use Tax Department, the Assistant Chief of Field Operations, Fourth Equalization District, provides managerial guidance and assistance to the four (4) district offices in the Fourth Equalization District. The incumbent provides consultation and advice on tax programs and administrative problems relative to the operations of field offices, coordinates field operations projects and functions with other intradepartmental and interdepartmental functions, and provides managerial assistance, analysis, and guidance of the work of multi-disciplinary staff, supervisors, principals and administrators. The incumbent also fosters cooperation, communication, and integrates functions among district and headquarters staff. The position requires travel up to 50%.
