Job Description:

This is a Permanent Intermittent position and may work at a maximum of 1500 hours per calendar year.

The Air Resources Board (ARB or Board), is a dynamic and innovative leader in setting and implementing controls to protect and improve air quality for the citizens of California. The Board's scientific and technical programs rely extensively on web-based information systems.

The mission of the Office of Information Services (OIS) is to leverage the most effective information technologies available to achieve ARB's program goals.

The IT Operations Section is responsible for providing support for Mobile Computing, Enterprise Services, Central Communications, Asset Management, and IT Purchasing and Procurement.

DUTIES:

The primary duties and responsibilities of the position supports a variety of less complex information technology administration activities, including but not limited to providing IT asset management, user account management, level 1 help desk services including using Help Desk software, email, calendaring and travel. Assist with IT procurements of goods and invoicing; supports telecom activities and serves as back up to a variety of work activities.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Highly desirable qualifications include: 1) a love of information technology; 2) excellence in customer service; 3) a solid understanding of personal computer hardware and Microsoft operating systems; 4) a continuous desire to learn; 5) a positive attitude; and 6) the ability to manage your time effectively. Desirable qualifications include: 1) organization skills; 2) writing and documentation skills; and 3) a basic understanding of network and/or data communications.

Current state employees who are in the Information Systems Technician or Assistant Information Systems Analyst classification, or are list eligible, or have transfer eligibility, are encouraged to apply.
