This position is currently located in Van Nuys but will relocate to Glendale. Under the general direction of the Business Taxes Administrator I, incumbent performs a variety of specialized support tasks and technical duties for the Sales and Use Tax Division Statewide Compliance and Outreach Program. These duties include, but are not limited to, maintaining a tracking system for permit license verification on an electronic database. Perform account maintenance and registration functions by data entry and filing. Follow-up on amended return assignments, delinquent returns and lead source tagging. Answer phone calls from taxpayers, representatives and staff who require assistance and/or information. Meeting the training requirement for this position may require overnight travel for up to five consecutive nights.
In addition to the standard state application (Std. 678) no more than a one-page typed response to the following questions must be submitted:
1. Please explain your work experience in using various computer applications/office software.
2. Please explain your experience working in a team environment.
3. How would you prioritize daily activities like data entry, typing/sending letters, checking email, your in-box and returning phone messages?
