Job Description:
Under the general direction of the Systems Software Specialist II (Supervisory), the Associate Information Systems Analyst (AISA) Telecommunications Specialist is responsible for voice/data telephony systems in Headquarters (HQ) and district/branch offices. The AISA prepares cost estimates, budget projections, and bid specifications. Responsible for equipment installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, service contracts, and warranties. Provides analog, digital, and VoIP communication service/support including hardware and software configuration. Provides technical support for all HQ and field office voice and data telecommunication systems, including: voice mail, video teleconferencing, cellular, Automated Call Distributor, VoIP, etc., plans and coordinates all aspects of telecommunication projects such as office expansions, alterations and relocations, upgrading existing communication systems, developing automated attendant scripts, design of call router trees, and the programming of Central Office features and functionalities on both the Public Switched Network and proprietary PBX switching technologies. All applicants will be considered, however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority. The position is located in a high-rise building. Travel required 5% of the time.

1) Describe your experience, in detail, with premise-based voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) and time division multiplexing (TDM) telecommunication systems?

2) Describe your experience with telecommunications project management and your ability to prioritize tasks?

3) Describe your level of experience dealing with software installation, upgrades, and firmware deployments?

The AISA Telecommunications Specialist is an official BOE Authorized Telecommunications Representative (ATR) for control agencies such as Department of General Services (DGS), and Department of Technology Services (DTS) – Statewide Telecommunications and Network Division (STND), for public utility companies, and for private vendors.

Travel to Board of Equalization field offices is required.
