Under the direction of the Deputy Director, Board of Equalization (BOE), External Affairs Department (EAD), the incumbent manages operations for multidisciplinary professional staff (supervisory and non-supervisory), promoting a statewide understanding of programs administered by the BOE; is a subject matter expert, providing a high degree of expertise on the impact to BOE internal and external communications with new programs, laws and changes to policy; provides managerial support for developing the strategic communication plan for the EAD and Office of Public Affairs (OPA); maintains the division budget; and, is responsible for high level Board, public and governmental contacts that requires a high degree of accuracy, efficiency and diplomacy. When necessary the position provides coverage for the Deputy Director of EAD and other managers and supervisors within EAD. All applicants will be considered however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority. This is a limited term position with the possibility of becoming permanent if funding becomes permanently available.
