Job Description:
***This is a Peace Officer Position. To be eligible, you must meet the minimum qualifications established by the Department of Human Resources AND either be currently eligible or eligible for reinstatement as a PC 830.2, California State Peace Officer. If you are not a current peace officer employed by a State of California agency and in possession of a POST – Basic Certificate, you are not eligible for this position and must apply to take the State Park Peace Officer Cadet (Ranger/Lifeguard) Exam when offered.  For further information regarding your rights and eligibility please visit the Department Link listed below before calling or emailing the listed contact.***

The reporting location for this position is the District Headquarters Office in Folsom. The Gold Fields District Superintendent reports to the Chief for the Northern Division of Park Operations. The District Superintendent is responsible for the overall management of the Gold Fields District and all of its components including, but not limited to, the District's budgeting, expenditures, personnel, visitor services, law enforcement, facilities, natural and cultural resources, interpretation and education, concessions and reservations, real property, and public relations. Sectors within the Gold Fields District include Folsom, Auburn, Delta and Marshall Gold. This position coordinates policy and decision making with various entities and interest groups. With a high degree of independence in meeting his/her responsibilities, every effort will be made to keep the Division Chief informed at all times of controversial and/or sensitive issues.
