The reporting location for this position is Heilbron Mansion in Sacramento. This position will work under the direction of the Senior Park and Recreation Specialist of the Road and Trails Statewide Unit of the Facilities Management Division. This position is responsible for the planning and implementation of trail related projects within the Road and Trail Program, resulting from the incorporation of the Planning Division's Statewide Trails Unit into the Facilities Management Division. The Road and Trail Program incorporates trail-related projects funded through the Environmental Enhancement and Mitigation Program, the Recreational Trails Program, State Coastal Conservancy Trail Program, Proposition 84 Bond Act, and Deferred Maintenance funding programs. This position is also responsible for coordinating all aspects of trailrelated projects, including layout and design, cost estimates, management of agreements and contracts, supervision of trail crews, implementation timelines and construction. The incumbent will also participate in the development and implementation of the Department's trail related training, which covers topics from trail planning, design, construction, management, and maintenance. Incumbent will also provide technical assistance to Department staff and outside agencies on trail-related topics, trends and issues. This position does require travel to park units and district offices, statewide. The incumbent's work schedule will be Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. State housing is not available.
