JOB DESCRIPTION : Under the general supervision and direction of the Supervisor and Lead of the PASS Development Unit, the Student Assistant will be responsible for programming and unit testing IT software solutions, which includes reviewing business requirements and design documents, developing and modifying software programs, and unit testing and debugging errors. All duties are performed within the framework of the Department’s mission and values, and in accordance with Departmental Policies and General Procedures.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS :
Experience providing customer service in an Information Technology (IT) environment.
Dependable and accountable.
Strong interpersonal, problem solving, and analytical skills.
Knowledge of various programming languages, such as C/C++, VB, COBOL, or similar object-oriented languages.
Experience with Microsoft technologies (Office, Visual Studio).
Knowledge of .Net, Structured Query Language (SQL), and Client Server systems.
Able to work 20+ hours a week.
WHO MAY APPLY :
Must be a college student enrolled in classes during the regular term (Fall, Spring and Winter, if applicable), at an accredited college or university and carrying a minimum of six semester units (or nine quarter units for undergraduate students), with a grade point average of 2.0 or higher. Students who are majoring in, enrolled in, and/or have been enrolled in curriculum relating to Computer Science or equivalent are encouraged to apply.
