Job Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION :
As the hiring specialist, you will perform the full range of tasks of average difficulty related to the recruitment efforts and communication between Human Resources and the hiring program managers. You will be responsible for a variety of analytical tasks related to exams, recruitment, candidate eligibility, exam certifications and withholds, and hiring including: providing customer service excellence; gaining and maintaining the confidence and cooperation of executive management, co-workers, departmental employees, applicants, other public agency personnel, and the general public. Act as Hiring SME to the hiring program teams when recruiting for mass hire efforts. Coordinate the final selection of candidates and monitor candidate Request for Personnel packages through the DOJ background check process. Oversee the FTBNet information and recommend updates to stay current with changes to the processes.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS :
  • Reason logically and creatively and utilize a variety of analytical techniques to resolve problems.
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively with others.
  • Well-developed organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with microsoft office applications.
  • Ability to work until 4:30 p.m.

WHO MAY APPLY :
Current state employees with status in the above classification or lateral transfers from an equivalent class, former state employees who can reinstate into this class or persons who are reachable on a current employment list for this classification. A training and development assignment (T & D) may also be considered. All appointments are subject to SROA/Surplus hiring provisions.
