Under the general direction of the Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor), the Associate Accounting Analyst performs complex analytical work in support of the Department's accounting functions.
Typical Duties include but are not limited to:
Identify and resolve more complex accounting issues. Perform monthly reconciliations including appropriations, and reimburesement accounts. Analyze and interpret financial reports to institution or program management. Review Final Budget Report to validate the accuracy of expenditures and encumbrances and work with OBS and program to resolve issues. Act as liaison for Programs, Accounting offices and Institutions for fiscal issues. Responsible to coordinate the Year -End process and the preparation of Financial Statements. Run SAP BI or BCR report and certify the funding availability to make fund reservations base upon request. Guide and assist lower-level staff in implementing of new functions and procedures impacting SAO operations. Provide technical support and training to SAO GL staff. Assist other SAO staff with the resolution of program and institution issues. Other special projects as assigned by upper management.
Able to work independently as well as in a team environment, ability to multi-task, proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word is highly desirable, strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills are required.
