Job Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION :
Under supervision of the Administrator I, serves as the resource for the recruitment process while working within the framework of the laws, rules, policies and guidelines. Demonstrates a commitment to provide quality service that is accurate, timely and exceeds our customer’s expectations. Incumbent performs a variety of duties which include posting job opportunity notices using the Exam and Certification Online System (ECOS). Process and clear certification lists through the Exam & Certification Online System (ECOS). Reviews applications to determine if applicant meets the minimum qualifications (MQs) and verifies eligibility to hire. Ensure that applications are reviewed within appropriate time restraints. Independently prepare and audit certification material upon its return from hiring managers for completeness and accuracy prior to making job offer commitment. Work closely with departmental staff to fill vacancies, compile and update eligible lists while ensuring the laws and rules regarding SROA/Surplus are closely followed. Assists in resolving certification problems. Sets up and maintains hiring folder and administrative files for recruitments. Assists receptionist with the more complex reception duties. Act as back up receptionist, when necessary. Assists with proctoring exams.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products
  • Ability to speak confidently on the telephone and in person
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment using good tact and judgment
  • Ability to work with all levels of management
  • Ability to shift priorities, workloads and work schedules to meet deadlines
  • Experience with Laws/Rules governing the recruitment process
  • Experience and/or knowledge of exam and certification process/ procedures

WHO MAY APPLY :
Current state employees with status in the above classification or lateral transfers from an equivalent class, former state employees who can reinstate into this class or persons who are reachable on a current employment list for this classification. A training and development assignment (T & D) may also be considered. All appointments are subject to SROA/Surplus hiring provisions.
