JOB DESCRIPTION :
Under the general supervision of the Section Manager, the Application Services Planning & Support Specialist supports planning and process activities throughout the three Bureaus of Application Services. The incumbent regularly performs complex, critical and specialized assignments having department-wide impact. Assesses operating guidelines, work practices, and identifies area's of improvement, overlap and redundancy. The incumbent will apply project management methodoligies consistant with Project Management Institute and California Department of Technology standards throughout all phases of the System Development Life Cycle. Incumbent will lead internal initiatives and projects where functions include collecting information, data analysis, coordinating work, facilitating meetings and reporting project status.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :
Experience leading Franchise Tax Board (FTB) Year End closeout process
Familiar with FTB’s Configuration Management Database (CMDB) Project and general ITSM concepts
Familiarity with FTB’s organization, operations and programs
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
Ability to analyze technical and non-technical issues, define problems, and recommend and initiate effective solutions
Ability to establish priorities and complete multiple assignments simultaneously
Experience providing customer service and support in a technical environment
Works well independently or in a team environment and maintain positive relationships
Experience collecting data, analyzing and preparing reports
