Under general supervision of the Business Taxes Administrator I, the Business Taxes Representative uses knowledge and skills in the application of the Sales and Use Tax Law as it pertains to the purchase of vehicles, vessels and aircraft from non-dealers. The BTR analyzes correspondence and tax returns to determine the taxability of a transaction and responds and/or provides advisory services to customers in written correspondence and over the telephone. In addition, the BTR reviews and processes relief of penalty and interest requests which requires maintenance of accounts using our on-line IRIS system. We are looking for a candidate who has a strong work ethic, excellent analytical skills, the ability to adjust to ever-changing priorities, and possesses strong writing and verbal communication skills. Interested candidates must meet educational requirements. The position is located in a high-rise building. Travel required 5% of the time. The position requires the incumbent to be fingerprinted.
