The reporting location for this position is the Maintenance Shop in Columbia State Historic Park. The primary duties are housekeeping, facility and equipment maintenance, and grounds keeping. Specifically, the position shall clean restrooms, day use areas, picnic sites, and other State facilities as required; maintain chemical toilets; haul garbage; pick up litter, maintain housekeeping supplies inventories and orders when necessary; train and oversee seasonal employees and park volunteers in the housekeeping function; may oversee and instruct inmate crews; annually maintain fencing and firebreaks utilizing assistance of work crews; maintain and repair irrigation and water systems, and related equipment; maintain neat and clean storage areas; ensure that flammable and hazardous materials are stored in a safe area and in compliance with all laws and regulations; operate and maintain a variety of vehicles, equipment, tools, etc. used in maintenance and housekeeping function; perform daily/monthly inspections; maintain records; and ensure that all equipment is in a safe and operable condition. The incumbent's work schedule will be Monday to Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. State housing is not available.
