The reporting location for this position is the Monterey District Office located in Monterey. This position will work under the direction of the District Superintendent. This position serves as the District’s Public Safety Superintendent. Primary duties include coordinating District's Visitor Safety Program and the Public Safety Telecommunications Program; on a Districtwide basis, coordinates, plans, directs, evaluates and establishes procedures involving public/resource protection and law enforcement to include the Standardized Emergency Management System (SEMS), and response/action protocols concerning hazardous materials; maintains professional relationships within the public safety and law enforcement community; assisting Sector
Superintendents in meeting visitor services needs and objectives; maintaining all reports and related records concerning reported crimes, visitor injuries and incidents that occur within the District; coordinates the processing of citations and reports with Monterey County courts; and managing the District's 'Field Training Officer' (FTO) program. This position may be downgraded for recruitment purposes. State housing is not available.
