This Permanent Intermittent Position may work at a maximum of 1500 hours per calendar year.
The successful candidate will work under close supervision of the Air Pollution Specialists and Air Resources Engineers to support Air Resources Board in the development and administration of the Hot Spots Analysis and Reporting Program (HARP). The successful candidate will assist with writing HARP user guides and training materials, updating census databases, program testing and other duties as required. The successful candidate will also assist in the Vessel Speed Reduction Program to utilize geographic information systems and MySQL databases to analyze vessel speed data. Duties also include running database queries for data analysis and compiling data to support the vessel speed reduction technical assessment and other greenhouse gas and toxic control measures.
The successful candidate will have strong writing, math, science, engineering, computer and organizational skills. Also, knowledge of databases, geographic information systems, and MySQL, is preferred. The successful candidate must be highly motivated, self-starting, demonstrate initiative, and have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
