Job Description: Under supervision of a DPM IV, the Office Technician (OT) works independently in providing support services to the Branch Chief of the Application Support Branch (ASB). The OT is expected to follow the Secretary's Handbook in developing correspondence for the management staff; reviews and edits documents prior to presentation to the Branch Chief; prioritizes and organizes the Branch Chief's calendar; develops, monitors and maintains tracking systems; and screens incoming phone calls. Composes, reviews, and edits correspondence; schedules meetings and maintains the Branch Chief's calendar; reviews, sorts, and processes mail; completes all phases of travel and training activities - schedules, completes forms, arranges for travel advances, etc.; receives and screens a variety of visitors and telephone calls; organizes and maintains confidential, administrative, and technical reference files; orders supplies and maintains supply and storage room.
Qualifications: The incumbent must have a good work ethic, and strong ability to communicate in writing and orally; ability to handle assignments in a fast-paced environment; ability to work with both technical and non-technical staff. The individual must have good collaboration skills and leadership and interpersonal skills. The candidate must have the ability to work well in a team environment. Other desirable qualifications include: reliable, motivated, able to learn quickly, understand complex directives, multi-task, and work independently.
Who May Apply: Applicants should be State employees who are currently employed in the Office Technician (Typing) classification, those eligible for appointment/transfer to the class, or eligible for reinstatement, or candidates with a passing score on the Office Technician (Typing) Exam may apply.
