Job Description:

Under the Supervision of the Supervisor of Academic Instruction, CF and the direction of the Senior Librarian, the Library Technical Assistant I (Safety) (LTA) may operate and maintain the Library at High Desert State Prison. The LTA supervises inmate clerks, applies basic philosophy, principles and theories of library service, evaluates materials, information and research. Supervises and assists inmates within the library in use of law library reference materials. Communicates with other staff including LTA’s and the Senior Librarian. Responsible for the safety and security of all persons in the library in accordance with the Departmental operational procedures and California and Federal mandates.
