Under the general direction of the Business Taxes Administrator III, Audit Examination Branch (AEB), the Business Taxes Specialist II (BTS II) serves as a technical advisor and acts in the capacity as a lead person by providing guidance and assistance to staff. As a technical advisor, the BTS II provides advice and consultation on the special tax and fee programs administered by the AEB and assists in the development and implementation of strategies for effective and efficient administration of the tax and fee programs. The BTS II organizes, coordinates, and oversees a variety of projects and activities related to the effective and efficient administration of branch operations. This position requires contact with persons at all levels to resolve complex technical issues on the various tax and fee laws administered by the BOE and the impact of policies and procedures on the administration of AEB tax and fee programs and branch operations. Position may require travel up to 25% of the time to various locations, both in-state and out-of-state, including overnight travel. The position is located in a high-rise building.
