Job Description: DSH is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as a DBA/application developer and systems integrator in support of state hospitals services programs that reside within California Health Care Facilities (CHCF). Independently performs and directs others in very complex programming, analysis and design tasks. Develops or modifies applications in support of department goals. Administers SQL Server Database along with being business aware of application that inputs and consumes its data. Assures successful application interfaces and communication across diverse technology platforms. Assesses impacts of new or proposed change requests. Clearly defines problems, assess alternatives objectively and collectively reaches a solution to the customer’s satisfaction. Functions as a facilitator in order to ensure common understanding amongst hospital customers and IT developers. Responsible for analysis, programming, testing, documentation, implementation and customer acceptance/satisfaction. This position will require travel to state mental health hospitals and psychiatric facilities on an as needed basis.
Skills Required: Proficient with .NET and SQL Server. The individual should be a highly motivated, independent information technology professional who possesses excellent analytical and problem resolution skills as well as proficient written and oral communications skills.
Additional Job Related Information: Successful candidates for this position will be required to undergo a background check, which may include a finger print check through Live Scan, and pass a safety class prior to visiting any state mental health hospital or psychiatric facility.
Desirable Qualifications: Experience with Microsoft SharePoint, HP Quality Center and Dynamics is beneficial but not required. DMH is always looking at ways to be more efficient and that includes implementing new technologies. The Sr. PA (Spec) should have a passion for new IT solutions.
