Under the general supervision of the Business Taxes Administrator II, the Associate Information Systems Analyst (AISA) acts in an independent manner, and is responsible for a variety of tasks in connection with the desktop PC’s, laptops, and database systems within the UTAS-In State Service Team and for future additions and enhancements within UTAS. The AISA also represents UTAS as the Local Area Network (LAN) System coordinator working closely with the Sale and Use Tax Department’s (SUTD) LAN Administration staff to resolve problems and make recommendations for effective use of the LAN system in UTAS. The AISA provides recommendations and advise to UTAS management regarding complex information technology, systems, and applications; the development and interpretation of applications; and the maintenance of all UTAS systems including those on the mainframe computer, the LAN, desktop PC’s, and laptops. The AISA also provides consultation and analytical input to UTAS management on systems related to specific work functions; coordinates information technology activities for UTAS; participates on information technology system studies for proposed equipment, programs, and program changes, and evaluates needs and addresses issue of repair, maintenance, and end user training, security, trouble shooting, software support, and upgrade of hardware and software.
