Job Description:
Under the general supervision of a Business Taxes Administrator I or Business Taxes Compliance Supervisor II, the Business Taxes Compliance Specialist independently audits use tax documentation and effects filing and collection of delinquent returns of the more complex and difficult situations as well as audit the more difficult claims of exemption. The incumbent, while working autonomously, informs the supervisor of especially complex and/or sensitive issues on assigned cases and acts as an expert resource to journey level staff with responsibility under the various sales and use tax programs and provides administrative support to management and supervision. All applicants will be considered however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority.
