Job Description:
Under close supervision for the first three to six months, the Tax Auditor conducts field audits of the least to moderately difficult accounts; attends basic tax law and audit training classes; makes audit appointments; meets with taxpayers and their representatives; explains the audit findings; and prepares appropriate audit reports. After the initial training period, incumbent attends additional classes and efficiently performs audit duties under general supervision. Meeting the training requirements for this position may require overnight travel for up to five consecutive nights. This position is designated as 'Mobile Worker' per Board of Equalization Telework Policy and Guidelines. Candidate must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Candidates should submit a copy of their unofficial transcripts with their application. More than one position may be available. All applicants will be considered however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority.
