The reporting location for this position is the Santa Cruz Mountains Sector office located in Felton. This position will work under the direction of the Santa Cruz District Superintendent. The incumbent is responsible for the daily management of core program areas for the Santa Cruz Mountains Sector which includes a variety of redwood parks including Big Basin Redwoods State Park and Henry Cowell Redwood State Park. The incumbent is responsible for the total administrative, maintenance, visitor services, public protection and law enforcement, interpretation, real property management, and resource management oversight of the sector. This position provides leadership, supervision, mentoring and employee development opportunities to staff and maintains cooperative professional relationships within the community and with our State Park partners in order to further the philosophy and purposes of the State Park System. The Santa Cruz Mountains Sector is a complex, politically sensitive sector within the Santa Cruz District and the successful candidate will need to have the skills, ability and experience to manage the operation in an environment of teamwork and cooperation.
